Orange Hold Steady at No. 3 in National Rankings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse remained at No. 3 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Inside Lacrosse media rankings released on Monday, April 8. It marks the second consecutive week that the Orange have held down the third spot in both polls.

Syracuse extended its winning streak to seven games with its 14-13 victory against Virginia Tech last Wednesday. The Orange are now 13-2 overall and 5-1 in ACC play. The 'Cuse's win against the Hokies was its seventh against a ranked opponent.

The top four teams are the same in both polls as Boston College is No. 1 and Maryland is No. 2. Both squads are undefeated this season. Following the Orange at No. 3 is Notre Dame at No. 4.

Syracuse's next opponent, North Carolina, and Northwestern hold down the fourth and fifth spots in the rankings. The Tar Heels are ranked fifth in the media rankings and fourth by the coaches, while the Wildcats are No. 5 in the IWLCA poll and No. 4 in the media rankings.

The Orange play their final regular-season road game on Saturday, April 13 at North Carolina at 12 p.m. The game will be broadcast by ACC Network Extra.
