A pair of Syracuse standouts earned CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District honors for their success on the track and in the classroom.
NCAA Championship qualifier Laura Dickinson and Madeleine Davison – who both maintain perfect 4.0 GPAs throughout their time at Syracuse thus far – were selected to the 10-athlete District 1 Academic All-District Team. The pair will now have an opportunity to be a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
Dickinson, who will be competing in the NCAA Championship of the 10,000-meters next week in Austin, Texas is majoring in psychology. The sophomore has run a personal best in each of her last-three races, including a 10k PR at the NCAA East Prelims that saw her qualify for nationals. She was also runner-up in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the ACC Championships and earned All-ACC honors in the 5k as well. The track success was a follow-up of a strong fall that saw Dickinson earn All-ACC honors in cross country as well.
Davison took 23rd in the ACC Championships for cross country, narrowly missing out on all conference honors. She then set a personal-best time of 35:28.23 in the 10,000-meters at the Raleigh Relays this spring.
Dickinson, Paige Stoner and Iliass Aouani will represent the Orange at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 5-6 in Austin, Texas.
