
Hawryschuk Earns First-Team All-America Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse junior Emily Hawryschuk's list of accolades continues to grow, as she has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America First Team. The 48-member All-America teams were announced on Wednesday, June 12 on the Division I All-American Special that aired on LaxSportsNetwork.

Hawryschuk produced one of the highest-scoring seasons in school history in 2019. She scored 75 goals this season, which is the second-highest single-season total in program history. She also finished with 94 points and 19 assists. Hawryschuk ranked ninth in the nation in goals and 18th in points. In addition, she led the squad with 67 draw controls.

The Victor, N.Y. native recorded four or more goals in 15 of 21 games. Hawryschuk scored five goals three times, including in the NCAA Tournament second round and quarterfinals. She earned All-ACC and All-Northeast Region First Team accolades and was voted to the ACC All-Tournament Team.

Hawryschuk, who is majoring in accounting and finance, will begin her senior season ranked seventh on Syracuse's career goals scored list (166). With her five goals at Northwestern in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals, she became the 11th player in program history to surpass 200 career points.

Hawryschuk is the 12th member of the Orange to earn IWLCA All-America First Team honors and the first since Kayla Treanor in 2016.

Syracuse posted a record of 16-5 in 2019 and earned the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. After receiving a first-round bye, the Orange defeated Georgetown to advance to the quarterfinals for the sixth time in the last nine years.
