Camp Notebook: Week 2
8/18/2019 12:00:00 PM | Football
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With less than two weeks remaining until the season opener against Liberty, preseason camp is winding down. The Orange concluded their second full week of workouts today with a light session following yesterday's 125-play scrimmage.
Speaking of the scrimmage, yesterday's outing was more balanced than the first, in which the defense had the upper hand. On Saturday, defensive coordinator Brian Ward's crew still made its share of plays, including what would have been a likely scoop-and-score by Tyrell Richards had the whistle not been blown. However, the offense bounced back and was able to move the ball with more efficiency that it did in the first scrimmage. Quarterback Tommy DeVito led the way, accounting for four touchdowns, including three through the air.
