Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse women's soccer (2-4-0) returns home to the SU Soccer Stadium to host Fordham (1-5-1) on Sunday, Sept. 15. Kickoff for the final non-conference matchup of the season is scheduled for 1 p.m., and fans whose cable providers carry the ACC Network can watch the match live on ACC Network Extra.
Â
It's Military Appreciation Day for the Orange. Military veterans and first responders who show their IDs at the marketing table will get a free SU Soccer t-shirt and Dunkin' gift card.
Â
A win on Sunday would give the Orange an undefeated record at home heading into ACC-play for the first time since 2014.
Â
"We want to end our non-conference portion of our season on a good note," first-year head coach Nicky Adams said. "Fordham will be a tough test and we're looking forward to having another opportunity to compete on our home surface."
Â
Last Time Out
The Orange traveled to Queens, N.Y. to take on St. John's this past Thursday. The Red Storm's Samantha Masur scored the eventual game-winning goal 17 minutes into the match. Syracuse put up eight shots and drew four corners in the loss.
Â
Scouting the Competition
Fordham is coming off a 2-0 loss to Yale on Thursday. The Rams' only victory of the season came against their cross-town rival, Manhattan College, on Aug. 29 as they defeated the Jaspers, 1-0, on the road.
Â
The Rams finished with a (9-9-1) record last season that culminated in the team reaching the A-10 tournament. A 2-0 loss to St. Joseph's in the quarterfinals eliminated Fordham and ended the Rams' season.
Â
What Lies Ahead
The Orange start ACC play on the road Friday, Sept. 20, when they take on Pitt. First touch is set for 7 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
Â
Syracuse's game against Fordham will be shown live on ACC Network Extra, but fans can only watch it if their cable provider carries the ACC Network. Fans unsure if their provider carries ACCN are strongly encouraged to visit GetACCN.com.
