Freshman Kim Hansen and senior Guzal Yusupova had impressive outings in the first fall tournament of the year.

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Syracuse women's tennis team had a strong showing this past weekend at the Princeton Invitational. Playing in three series of hidden doubles matches and three singles draws, the team won five doubles sets and 11 singles matches over three days. Freshman Kim Hansen and senior Guzal Yusupova each won three singles matches, pacing the Orange squad.

Syracuse faced competition from Rutgers, Princeton, Penn, Temple and Cornell during its first competition of the fall.

"We are making some strides forward, and we are proud of how the team competed consistently in every match," said head coach Younes Limam.

The Orange return to the courts next weekend for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic Sept. 20-23 in Fox Point, Wisc. Syracuse will be represented by Miranda Ramirez and Yusupova.
