Ramirez, Yusupova Set for Competition in Milwaukee

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse tennis will send two student-athletes to Fox Point, Wisc. this weekend, Sept. 20-23, to compete in the 44th-annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Seniors Miranda Ramirez and Guzal Yusupova will represent the Orange in the second tournament of the fall season following strong performances in last week's Princeton Invitational.

Last Time Out
'Cuse had a strong showing this past weekend at the Princeton Invitational where the team faced competition from Rutgers, Princeton, Penn, Temple and Cornell. Freshman Kim Hansen and Yusupova each won three singles matches, pacing the Orange squad. Syracuse won five doubles sets and 11 singles matches while in New Jersey, with Yusupova winning three singles matches and Ramirez winning two. Ramirez' doubles group also took two doubles matches while Yusupova's won one.

Ramirez and Yusupova will be joined in Milwaukee by participants from 21 other programs, including: East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Lipscomb, LSU, Marquette, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Navy, Northwestern, Purdue, Arizona, Louisiana – Monroe, Maryland, Memphis, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Oklahoma, USC, VCU, and Xavier.
What Lies Ahead
Syracuse will send four players to West Point, N.Y. next week for Army's West Point Invitational where competition runs Sept. 27-29.
