BLACKSBURG, Va. – Syracuse looks to avenge it loss to Virginia Tech 11 days ago when it faces the Hokies on Saturday, Jan. 18. Tipoff in Blacksburg, Virginia is set for noon.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (10-7, 3-3) goes for its third straight win on Saturday after defeating Boston College, 76-50, on Wednesday in the Carrier Dome. Sophomore Buddy Boeheim led a group of four Orange to reach double figures in scoring with 22 points. Redshirt junior Elijah Hughes finished with 19 points, increasing his career total to 991, while junior Marek Dolezaj posted his second double-double this season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

'CUSE ON THE ROAD
The Orange will play three of their next four games on the road. Syracuse is 2-1 in true road contests this season, with both wins coming against ACC opponents. The last time the Orange left the friendly confines of the Dome they topped defending national champion Virginia, 63-55, in Charlottesville.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech has won seven of its last eight contests, including an 80-70 victory at Wake Forest on Tuesday. The Hokies are 13-4 overall, 4-2 in ACC action, and received five votes in this week's Associated Press poll.

Freshman Landers Nolley is Virginia Tech's leading scorer, averaging 18.1 points per game. He ranks third in the ACC in scoring and 3-point field goals made per game (2.8). Redshirt freshman Tyrece Radford leads the Hokies' efforts on the boards, pulling down 6.5 rebounds per game.

Mike Young is in his first season as head coach at Virginia Tech. He spent the previous 17 seasons at the helm at Wofford. Young was named to the 2019 Sporting News Coach of the Year after leading the Terriers to the NCAA Tournament with a 30-5 record.

THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Virginia Tech, 9-5. Virginia Tech has won the last two meetings between the schools, including a 67-63 victory in the Dome on Jan. 7.

In that contest, Hughes knocked down a shot to get the Orange within three with 1:19 on the clock. After Nolley hit a long 2-point field goal to extend Virginia Tech's lead to five, 64-59, with 47 second to play, freshman Quincy Guerrier made a layup and was fouled, sending him to the free throw line. He missed the free throw and the Hokies held on for the four-point victory.
