BLACKSBURG, Va. – Syracuse men's soccer starts a stretch of three consecutive road games when it travels to Blacksburg, Va. to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
The 'Cuse (0-2-1) is coming off a double-overtime 2-2 draw at home against Louisville last Friday. Freshman Deandre Kerr had both goals for the Orange as they held a 2-0 lead with less than 20 minutes to play.

The Cardinals then scored two unanswered goals in the final 13 minutes of regulation to send the game to overtime. SU had its opportunities as it netted seven corner kicks and three shots during the extra sessions but could not find the back of the net.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech (0-1-1, 0-1-1) is still looking for its first win after recording a 1-1 draw against then No. 5 Virginia. In their other contest, the Hokies went up against another top five team, losing 4-2 to then No. 2 Pittsburgh.

Senior midfielder Kristo Strickler leads the way for the Hokies' offense. He has two goals in as many games and leads the team in points (4). Four players have at least one assist on the season, including junior forward Kahlil Dover, who also has a goal for three points. Sophomore Matt Zambetti is in his first year starting in goal. In 200 minutes, he has a save percentage of .545.

Mike Brizendine is in his 12th year at the helm in Blacksburg. He has led Virginia Tech to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in three out of the past four seasons.

THE SERIES
Saturday's match will mark the seventh time these two teams meet. The Hokies lead the series, 6-2, with the most contest played in 2018. The Hokies jumped out to an early lead and came away with a 3-1 victory in the ACC Tournament first round.
