12/4/2020 3:24:00 PM | Men's Basketball
As the Syracuse Orange (2-0) prepare to tip off vs. Rider on Saturday, Dec. 5 (7 p.m., RSN/YES Network), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with freshman guard Kadary Richmond.
What is your favorite high school/prep school basketball memory?
Competing for a national championship with a good group of guys.
When was the first time you dunked in a game?
The summer of my sophomore year.
Brewster Academy played a very competitive schedule while you were there. Which opponent was the toughest? Every time we played a game we knew we had to play well because everyone wanted to beat us. New Hampton stands out as one of the best opponents.
Is there a reason you chose #3 as your jersey number?
My older brother, Daquan, wore that number when he was playing basketball.
What has been the biggest difference between the level of play you faced last year at prep school and then college basketball practices this season? Everything is more intense at the college level. The players are much stronger.
Which ACC arena are you looking forward to playing in the most?
I'm not really looking forward to playing in any specific arena – I'm just glad to be playing college basketball.
Favorite movie: All Fridays
Favorite book: Romeo and Juliet
Person you most admire: My mother, Florence Etienne
Favorite pro athlete: James Harden
Favorite pro team: Houston Rockets
Favorite musical artist: Meek Mill
Favorite food: macaroni and cheese
Who is the funniest person on the team? John Bol Ajak.
