THE GAME
- Syracuse faces Binghamton in the second game of the season, its second of four-straight Dome games against in-state foes to start the season.
- The game will be broadcast on ACC Network with 'Cuse alums Jay Alter and 4x All-American Ric Beardsley on the call. Brian Higgins and Kyle Fetterly will broadcast the action on KRock, Cuse.com and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.
THE BINGHAMTON SERIES
- This will be the 8th all-time meeting between the two Upstate New York programs. The Orange are undefeated in the series.Â
- The teams haven't met since the 2018 season opener, where Danny Varello (15-of-17) had a career day at the X and Stephen Rehfuss (3-2) posted his first career five-point game.
- This is just the second time the two programs have met in the month of February. The series was previously scheduled for late March or early April in the first six matchups.
AGAINST THE AMERICA EAST CONFERENCE
- Syracuse is 25-6 all-time against the seven current members of the America East Conference.
- The Orange will play two America East opponents in 2020, with the Orange set to travel to Albany later in the season.Â
- 'Cuse boasts a 7-0 mark against Binghamton, 16-2 record against UAlbany and a 2-5 record vs. UMBC. Syracuse has not played Stony Brook, Vermont, UMass Lowell or Hartford to date.Â
DESKO CLIMBING THE RANKS
- In Syracuse's season-opening win over Colgate, John Desko surpassed legendary SU head coach Roy Simmons Sr. for second in Syracuse history and sole possession of 19th in NCAA DI history at 254 victories.Â
- With 254 wins, he now sits three behind longtime Cornell head coach Richie Moran (257) for 18th and seven behind Howdy Myers (Johns Hopkins/Hosftra/Hampden-Sydney) for 17th. Desko is nine victories from breaking into the top-15.
- Three of Syracuse's four coaches all-time now rank inside the top-20 in NCAA Division I wins.
STATE CHAMPS
- This is the second of six games vs. in-state competition this year, including a stretch of four-straight to kick off the 2020 campaign.
- Historically, Syracuse has dominated New York. Owning a combined 412-160-10 record against teams from New York.
HISTORIC START
- The 'Cuse offense couldn't have asked for much of a better start to the year.
- Led by seven goals from Chase Scanlan and eight points from Stephen Rehfuss, it was just the third time in program history that a pair of teammates each had seven-or-more goals and/or assists in the same game. The other two were Kevin Rice/Dylan Donahue vs. Siena on Feb. 10, 2014 and Gary Gait/Paul Gait vs. Navy on May 22, 1988.Â
