
Orange Travel to Notre Dame Sunday

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- Syracuse (15-11, 9-6 ACC) travels to South Bend, Ind. to take on Notre Dame (10-17, 5-10 ACC) at Purcell Pavilion on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 12 p.m. on ACC Network. The Orange are looking to continue their five game winning streak and earn their first victory at Purcell in program history.
Syracuse is coming off a 59-46 victory over Clemson on Thursday. Kiara Lewis led the way, scoring a game-high 17 points. It marks the 21st time this season Lewis has paced the Orange attack. Gabrielle Cooper was second in scoring with 10 points. She added 10 rebounds for her second career double-double, and moved to 26th all-time on the Syracuse career scoring list. Â
The Irish are led by Destinee Walker who averages 14.5 points per game. Five players average double figures for the Fighting Irish this season, and Anaya Peoples leads the team with 8.0 rebounds per game.
These two squads last met on Jan. 5 in Syracuse, the Orange winning 74-63 in overtime. Lewis and Emily Engstler both had 20-point games. The Irish lead the all-time series 34-3 and are 15-0 at home against 'Cuse.
Following Sunday's matinee, the Orange travel to No. 10 NC State on Thursday, Feb. 27 for their final road game of the regular season. 'Cuse returns home the following Sunday to face Boston College on Senior Day/Alumni Weekend at 4 p.m. (Regional Sports Network, YES Network in Syracuse.Â
To celebrate the final game under the current roof of the Carrier Dome, the first 1,500 fans to go to the backcourt marketing table at halftime will receive a tin Carrier Dome replica. Tickets for the game start at $10 for adults and $5 for youth under 12.
