
Orange No. 4 in Final IWLCA Rankings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is No. 4 in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) rankings released on Thursday, March 19. The Orange finished the season with a 7-1 record.

North Carolina earned all 25 first-place votes to take the top spot, followed by Notre Dame (7-0). Loyola (5-0) was No. 3, followed by the Orange at No. 4. The ACC had seven teams ranked in the top 25, including No. 15 Virginia, No. 18 Duke and No. 19 Boston College.

Syracuse ended the year with six consecutive wins. Two of those victories came at No. 6 Northwestern and No. 11 Maryland. The Orange ended the season with the top-ranked defense in the nation, allowing 7.00 goals per game, while senior goalkeeper Asa Goldstock had the lowest goals-against average (7.07). Offensively, senior Emily Hawryschuk ranked second nationally in goals (39) and fifth in points (46).
