SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange football fans can now enjoy the replay of "Syracuse Flashback" presented by AmeriCU. The 60-minute, exclusive pre-game special first aired on Facebook on Friday, April 24 leading up to the rebroadcast of Syracuse's 2017 upset of No. 2 Clemson on ACC Network.
Â
Hosted by "Voice of the Orange" Matt Park '97, the show features analysis from head coach Dino Babers, assistant coach Nick Monroe and current Kent State head coach Sean Lewis. Lewis was Syracuse's co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2017.
Â
Five key players in the 27-24 Orange win also appear on the program. Record-setting quarterback Eric Dungey, who passed for 278 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, provides his insight. Running back Dontae Strickland, receivers Steve Ishmael and Ervin Philips, and linebacker Zaire Franklin also offer their recollections of the matchup. Strickland, Ishmael and Philips each had touchdowns in the game. Ishmael and Franklin are still teammates with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.Â
Â
Another Syracuse graduate – David Hale G'05 – shares his memories of that night, too. Hale was in the Dome covering the game for ESPN.com.
Â
The 2017 Orange are the last team to beat Clemson in the regular season. Syracuse was rewarded with Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) National Team of the Week honors following the victory.
