The Orange (7-2, 4-2 ACC) look to bounce back from a 67-54 loss to No. 1 Louisville on Thursday night. 'Cuse trailed by three at the half, 32-29, before the Cardinals took control of the game late in the third quarter to secure the victory. Junior Emily Engstler led the Orange with 16 points and 11 rebounds in her third straight double-double. Freshman Kamilla Cardoso posted her second consecutive double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Cardoso leads 'Cuse with 14.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season and is second in the ACC in blocks per game (2.33). Engstler is averaging a double-double with 10.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. Five Orange players average double-digit scoring, including Syracuse's backcourt of Kiara Lewis (13.2 ppg) and Tiana Mangakahia (11.0 ppg), and freshman forward Priscilla Williams (10.7 ppg). Syracuse ranks eighth in the nation and leads the conference in blocks per game with an average of 6.6.Â
Clemson (8-5 overall, 3-5 ACC) enters Sunday's game having lost four games in a row, including a double-overtime loss at Florida State. The Seminoles took advantage of Clemson foul trouble in the final OT period and went on to win 95-88. Gabby Elliott is pacing the Tigers with 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Delicia Washington and Kendall Spray are also averaging double figures, scoring 13.2 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Tylar Bennett leads the ACC in blocked shots (31) and blocked shots per game (2.38). Clemson also leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game with 16.6.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 9-0. Last time the two met, Syracuse won 59-46 on February 20, 2020 at the Carrier Dome. Lewis led the Orange with 17-points.Â
