The Syracuse University women's basketball team (8-3, 5-3 ACC) hosts Notre Dame (8-6, 6-4 ACC) on Sunday, Jan. 31 at the Carrier Dome. Tip-off is slated for 11 a.m. on ACC Network with Sam Ravech and Monica McNutt on the call. The Orange and Irish meet for the 39th time in program history and first since first year head coach Niele Ivey took over the ND program. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 35-3 but the two squads split the regular season series last year, each winning their respective home games.Â
It will be a matchup of some of the best freshman talent in the ACC with Syracuse's Kamilla Cardoso (14.1 ppg) and Priscilla Williams (10.6 ppg) amd Notre Dame's Maddy Westbeld (15.4 ppg). Each team has four players averaging double figures and while Syracuse is shooting 42 percent from the field as a team through 11 games, the Irish are holding opponents to 42 percent and shooting 46.3 percent themselves.
Syracuse snapped a two-game slip with a 80-57 win over Pitt on Thursday night. The Orange held off a comeback by the Panthers and closed the game on a 20-2 run to secure their second win by 20+ points since the turn of the calendar year. Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi had a season-high 17 points and was 3-for-4 from downtown. Emily Engstler had her fifth double double in the last seven games and five Orange scored in double figures. The Irish have won three of their last four games and are 2-4 on the road this season. In their last time out, Notre Dame fell to North Carolina on the road, 78-73.Â
Fans can watch the game live on ACC Network of through the ESPN App.Â
