This Weekend in Syracuse Field Hockey: #7 Orange Face #23 Duke on the Road

Syracuse field hockey is back in action this weekend as the No. 7 Orange (10-2, 3-0 ACC) travel to No. 23 Duke (5-8, 0-4 ACC) on Saturday, Oct. 16. Fans can watch live on ACCNXÂ at 12 p.m. through the ESPN app.Â
The Orange ride an eight-game win streak into Saturday's conference matchup. Duke is the sixth nationally-ranked opponent 'Cuse will face this season, the Orange are 4-1 in their previously five games with their only loss to a ranked opponent being a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 8 Rutgers on Sept. 10. Syracuse has the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on their side with Laura Graziosi claiming the honors this past Tuesday. She's the fifth different Syracuse player to earn ACC Player of the Week accolades this season.Â
Duke also has a ACC Defensive Player of the Week on their side as Graziosi shared the award with Grace Brightbill who helped the Blue Devils to a 5-1 win last Sunday over Old Dominion in her first career start. Duke is 2-5 at home this season and has won two of its last five games played.Â
Saturday's game is the only contest for the Orange this season, who have four regular season games left. It's the first road game in the month of October for Syracuse who has won eight-straight and has outscored its opponents 24-4 during that time.Â
Following Saturday's road game the Orange return home to face Virginia on Friday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
