SETTING THE STAGE
Both squads are coming off Thursday defeats. The Orange were beaten at Clemson, 8-0, while NC State lost to Wake Forest, 1-0.
THE SYRACUSE-NC STATE SERIES
NC State has a slim, 3-2 advantage in the all-time series with Syracuse. The Orange won the first two games and the Wolfpack have answered by claiming the three most recent pairings. NC State has won two of three meetings in Raleigh.

One of the bright spots of Syracuse's loss at Clemson was the play of sophomore Aysia Cobb. She played a part in two of the Orange's best scoring opportunities on the evening with her aggressive play after entering the contest.
JOSEPH AND WOHNERÂ LEAD WOLFPACK GOAL GETTERS
Sophomore forward Jameese Joseph has emerged as a top offensive threat for NC State. Joseph has accumulated a squad-best seven goals and one assist this fall. Another standout offensive player for the Wolfpack has been freshman midfielder Annika Wohner, who owns five goals and two assists in her rookie campaign.
