Syracuse (4-6-1. 0-4 ACC) continues its stretch of three straight games against top-four opponents when it plays at #1 Florida State (11-0, 4-0) on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee.
The game will be available on ACC Network Extra.
SETTING THE STAGE
Syracuse lost at Duke in its last outing on Saturday, 2-0.Â
Florida State remained unbeaten by defeating Clemson last Friday, 4-1. The Seminoles have not lost since the 2020 NCAA Championship game, when they were edged by Santa Clara on penalty kicks.
THE SYRACUSE-FLORIDA STATE SERIES
The Seminoles have not lost to the Orange and own a 4-0-1 series mark against Syracuse.
Florida State captured the most recent pairing in 2019, 1-0. The two programs initially squared off in 1998.
PROULX PROTECTS ORANGE CAGE
Senior goalkeeper Lysianne Proulx made a career-high 15 saves in last Saturday's loss to Duke. It equaled the second-best, single-game total in Syracuse history. Proulx ranks fifth in career saves among Orange netminders.
SEMINOLE SCORING
Florida State has been led offensively by sophomore Beata Olsson, who has posted eight goals and one assist, and redshirt senior Clara Robbins, the owner of four goals and five assists.
The Seminoles have scored 38 goals this fall. The goal production has featured tallies from 16 different players.

Orange alumni, fans and friends are invited to share in a year-long celebration of 50 years of Syracuse University women's athletics. Events and special recognition of all female student-athletes who have donned the Block S to represent Syracuse University and the Athletics Department since 1971-72 will be held throughout the 2021-22 seasons. As we celebrate this history, we acknowledge those who have gone before us to set the standard we strive to achieve today so we can pave the way for the future. We reflect on the history of women in sport, admire their sacrifices, recognize their contributions and accomplishments, and honor their legacy.
Kickoff Weekend is set for October 7th through 10th, beginning with the ice hockey home opener against Clarkson on Thursday, October 7th at 6 pm in the Tennity Ice Pavilion. All former student-athletes, fans and friends of Syracuse University Athletics are invited back to campus to begin the celebrate 50 years of women's athletics during multiple events. Syracuse field hockey has two home games during kickoff weekend, Friday vs. Wake Forest at 6 p.m. and Sunday vs. Colgate at 1 p.m. Admission is FREE to all regular season home games at J.S. Coyne Stadium. All fans attending games must adhere to Syracuse University's COVID-19 policy, which can be found here.Â
