SYRACUSE N.Y. – Syracuse and North Carolina State played to a 0-0 double overtime draw at the SU Soccer Stadium on Friday night before 1,572 fans. It is the fourth overtime game of the season for Syracuse (6-5-2 overall, 1-3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). NC State is now 5-4-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the league.
"We've played some emotional and physical ACC games and this was another," said head coach Ian McIntyre. "Our guys didn't step down from it, they left it all out on the field. We did not create enough chances, but I thought we had a solid performance"
The Orange outshot the Wolfpack, 18-5, including 9-2 in the second half and 3-1 in the first overtime period and 4-0 in the second overtime session. Forward Curt Calov and midfielder Anferny Sinclair each put shots just over the crossbar in the second overtime session.
OF NOTE
The Orange begin a two-game road stretch at Bucknell on Monday (Oct. 11) at 7 p.m. They travel to Boston College on Friday (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m. Syracuse returns home to host Clemson on October 23rd at 7 p.m. Admission to the SU Soccer Stadium is free.
