The Syracuse women's basketball team (1-1) returns to the Carrier Dome Wednesday night for a non-conference matchup against Morgan State (0-3). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and fans can watch live on ACCNX through the ESPN app.
The Orange look to bounce back after a 82-56 home loss on Sunday in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Wednesday marks the third time in program history Syracuse and Morgan State meet on the hardwood with 'Cuse leading the all-time series 2-0.
Wednesday night's game is the first competition of the Syracuse University and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) 10-year partnership. On Aug. 23, the first-of-its kind agreement was announced, creating an alliance designed to connect institutions, student-athletes, staff and alumni. The partnership which stretches beyond scheduling of competitions between Syracuse and the MEAC institutions, will create opportunities for collaboration that will benefit student-athletes and fans alike.
Syracuse is led by senior Chrislyn Carr who is averaging 13.0 points and 3.0 assists per game. Graduate student Alaysia Styles is the other Orange averaging double figures with 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Redshirt sophomore Teisha Hyman has the team lead in rebounds (7.0 per game) and steals (2.5) while shooting an impressive 47.1 percent from the field.
Morgan State's leading scorer is Adia Brisker who has a team-best 9.7 points per game. The Bears began their season with a road trip to northern California where they lost 69-53 at San Francisco and 91-36 to No. 3 and defending national champion Stanford on Nov. 11. Morgan State's third game, was a 73-49 loss on the road at Missouri on Nov. 14. The Bears play four road games before opening the season at home versus Notre Dame of Maryland on Friday, Nov. 19.
The game will be streamed live on ACCNX with Ben Schulman and Tim Nolan on the call.
Following Wednesday night's game the Orange head to the Bad Boy Mowers Women's Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament at the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas. Syracuse's first game of the tournament is Saturday, Nov. 20 vs. #23 South Florida. All games of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament can be streamed on FloHoops through a subscription.
