Current, Former Orange to Compete for U.S. at President's Cup

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse graduate students Emily Hawryschuk and Sam Swart and sophomore Emma Ward highlight a list of seven current and former Orange who will compete for Team USA at the IWLCA President's Cup this weekend in Texas.

'Cuse head coach Kayla Treanor '16 will also be in action this weekend, as will Becca Block '13, Liz Hogan '11 and Ella Simkins '21. In addition, assistant coach Kenzie Kent will also take part in the event. The Orange's seven current or former players are the second-highest total for any school in the nation.

The U.S. will hold three training sessions and play a public exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. The players will also serve as guest coaches for teams during the IWLCA President's Cup, which is a recruiting event that features more than 350 teams.

Team USA is training for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship, which will be held Jun 29 – July 9 at Towson University. The U.S. will be going for its fourth straight world title after winning in 2009, 2013 and 2017. Block and Treanor were members of the 2017 world championship team.
