
Orange Look to Finish December Unbeaten

Syracuse (8-4) rides a six-game win streak into Thursday night's first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) road game of the season for the Orange. 'Cuse and North Carolina tip-off at 4 p.m. on ACC Network in Carmichael Arena with Debbie Antonelli and Jenn Hildreth on the call.
The Orange, who have not lost in December, face a 11-0 UNC squad that is ranked No. 24 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Syracuse is led by Chrislyn Carr (15.6 ppg) and is one of two ACC teams and just three Power Five schools with five players averaging double figures. Teisha Hyman, the team's leader in steals (2.7 spg) is second on the team in scoring (14.3 ppg) and adds 6.2 rebounds per game.
During the win streak, the Orange have outscored opponents by an average of 30-plus points per game and the team is sharing the ball well through its first 12 contests with 17.8 assists per game.
North Carolina (11-0) is led by Deja Kelly (16.8 ppg) who ranks third in the league in scoring and has scored in double figures in all of UNC's games this season. Alyssa Utsby leads the team with 9.2 rebounds per game. The Tar Heels lead the nation in scoring margin (33.2 ppg) and is one of six undefeated teams left.
Thursday is the 14th meeting in program history between the two teams. Syracuse leads the series 8-5 and has won six of the last seven meetings. Last time the two played in Carmichael, UNC earned a 92-68 win on Dec. 17, 2020.
