
Orange Win Four Events at Greg Page Relays

'Cuse also competes in Boston
Syracuse began the 2021-22 track season with four different event wins at the Greg Page Relays on Saturday.
Isaiah Lewis won the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.01 seconds. Syracuse placed four in the top-five, including Anthony Vazquez (8.10), David Peters (8.11) and Naseem Smith (8.15), who finished third through fifth. Freshman Xayvion Perkins finished 12th in 8.64 seconds.
Competing unattached, Shaleah Colaire won the women's event in 8.48 seconds. Kirstyn Schecter was seventh in 9.27 seconds. Freshmen Sheridan McGadden (9.68), Olivia Etienvre (9.82) and CJ Fox (9.93) took ninth, 10th and 12th, respectively. Etienvre would later finish sixth in the high jump.
Trei Thorogood won the men's 60-meter dash in 6.92 seconds, which was the third-straight event that the Orange came away victorious in on Saturday afternoon.
Juliette Keller was the fourth member of the Orange to pick up an event win at the meet, winning the 3000-meter run in 10:44.75.
Kahniya James (7.63 seconds) was second overall in the women's 60-meter dash. Janelle Pottinger was seventh in 7.88 seconds. Kaleia Arrington was 0.04 seconds out of qualifying for the final in 7.96 seconds.
Eunice Boateng took third in the women's 300-meter run (41.53), followed by teammated Kennedy Tarley and Natalya Rodney in eighth and 13th. Jana Riley finished closely behind in 16th.
Bearett Tarris and Mariana McManus each won their heat of the 500-meter run, Tarris finished fifth overall, while McManus took ninth.
'Cuse also sent members of its distance group to Boston for the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener meet. Nathan Lawler ran to a mark of 14:08.52 in the 5k to lead the Orange, followed by Jack Whetstone (14:29.44) and Ethan Wechsler (14:31.45).
The Orange will be back in action on Jan. 8 at Cornell again.
