Orange compete for the first time in a month at VT Invite

The Orange hurdlers will take to the track first. Shaleah Colaire gets action underway for the women on Friday night at 6:05 p.m. in the 60-meter hurdles.
Next, five 'Cuse men will compete in the men's 60-meter hurdles, the deepest Orange field of any event this weekend. Jaheem Hayles, Emmanuel Joseph, Isaiah Lewis, Naseem Smith and Anthony Vazquez will all compete. Lewis still owns one of the top-16 times nationally in the event, after posting a mark of 8.01 in the season opener at the Greg Page Relays on Dec. 4.
Trei Thorogood and Sean Tucker race at 6:50 p.m. in the men's 60-meter prelims. It'll be Tucker's first track meet with the Orange, having last run at Calvert Hall before joining the 'Cuse football team in fall 2021. Tucker wrapped up an All-American season in November, where he shattered the program's single-season rushing record and emerged as one of the nation's top players.
Janelle Pottinger, Jana Riley, Natalya Rodney and Kennedy Tarley will race in the women's 300-meter dash at 8:40 p.m. on Friday. That will be followed by James Nmah in the men's 300 at 8:55 p.m.
Colaire and James are also entered in the women's 200-meter dash on Saturday. Nmah and Thorogood will join them on the men's side at 2:25 p.m.
The weekend concludes with the women's 4x400 at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
ABOUT THE MEET:
The Orange will be tested with 11 teams competing, including nearly half the ACC. Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, NC State and the host Hokies are set to run, as will Tennessee, Army, Charlotte, High Point and VCU.
