Cornell Comes to the Dome Wednesday Night

It's a central New York women's basketball showdown in the Carrier Dome on Wednesday night when Cornell visits Syracuse. Tip-off between the Big Red (4-5) and the Orange (5-4) is set for 7 p.m. on ACCNX.Â
'Cuse enters Wednesday's non-conference game after setting a program-record for points in a game in a 116-65 win over Central Connecticut on Sunday. The Orange have won three-straight games and have outscored their opponents by 26.3 points per game. Teisha Hyman was named ACC and USBWA National Player of the Week after having a having a standout week where she averaged 28.5 points, 10.5 assists and 6.0 steals per game. She had 30 points in Syracuse's win over No. 18 Ohio State and added a triple double with 27 points, 15 assists and a program record 11 steals on Sunday against CCSU. Chrislyn Carr has scored at least 20 points in the last four games and Syracuse had six players score in double figures their last time out.Â
Cornell has lost its last two games by a 10 points or less. Niagara slipped by the Big Red 76-71 last Saturday and in their last home game against UMass Lowell the Big Red lost 53-44 on Dec. 1. Theresa Grace Mbanefo leads the team with 12.2 points per game while Olivia Snyder averages 11.1 rebounds per game. Cornell is scoring 52.9 points per game this season and shooting 36.4 percent from the field.Â
