The Orange volleyball team will close the regular season with a series at Florida State on April 1st and 2nd. Both matches will begin at 5 pm. Syracuse enters the series with a 7-7 record, while Florida State is 12-5 overall and 8-5 in the ACC.
The match on April 1st will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra. The second match on April 2nd will take the place of a match originally schedule against NC State. The match against the Wolfpack was cancelled due to COVID-19 contact tracing and quarantining among NC State's tier-one personnel.
Hogan's Honor
Freshman Lauren Hogan earned ACC Co-Rookie of the Week (3/30) for her performances against Wake Forest and Duke. This was her second ROTW honor this season. Hogan averaged 5.5 digs per set, notching 44 total. She tallied seven assists, an ace, and a kill on a reaction play where she used her right arm to send the ball over the net from the Orange end line to avoid the fourth touch. Hogan ranks number one in the ACC and eighth nationally in digs per set amongst freshman (4.98).
Worth Noting
Sophomore outside hitter Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk has averaged 10.8 kills and 6.3 digs per match in the last six matches.
Syracuse ranks third in the ACC in digs per set (15.3). Lauren Hogan owns the best digs per set mark (4.98) in the conference, which ranks 52nd in the nation and eighth among all freshmen.
Freshman Lauren Hogan has a .986 reception percentage. The defensive specialist has successfully received 296 balls and has committed only four errors.
Syracuse is 56th nationally and fifth in the ACC in blocks per set, averaging 2.4. Sophomore middle blocker Abby Casiano leads the Orange and ranks sixth in the ACC with an average of 1.17 blocks per set.
