Emily Engstler averaged a double double through three games of the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend earning All-Tournament Second Team accolades.Â
The New York, N.Y., native averaged 13.0. points and 10.0 rebounds per game in her first three starts of the season. Named the ACC Co-Sixth Player of the Year at the beginning of the week, Engstler had eight points and a season-high 15 rebounds in Syracuse's second round win over #13 Boston College. Engstler had 10 points, shot 50 percent from the field, and added five rebounds in the quarterfinal win against No. 4 seed Florida State on Friday. Engstler's half-court buzzer beater to cut the Seminoles lead to just three at the end of the third quarter sparked Syracuse's 15-point comeback win and was featured as the No. 2 play on SportsCenter's Top-10 Plays.Â
In the semifinals, Engstler scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Orange's 72-59 loss to top-seed Louisville. It was her team-best sixth double double of the season.Â
Engstler becomes the first Syracuse player to earn All-Tournament Team honors since Tiana Mangakahia in 2019.Â
The Orange (14-8) now wait for Selection Monday on March 15 when they find out where in the NCAA Tournament field they will be selected. ESPN bracketologist Charlie Creme has Syracuse as a No. 8 seed in the River Walk Region.Â
