Women's Basketball Adds Christianna Carr

All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection Christianna Carr will attend Syracuse University and play for the nationally-recognized women's basketball team next season. Carr, a Manhattan, Kans., native averaged 11.3 points per game over the last three seasons at Kansas State.Â
Carr averaged 15.2 points per game in 2020-21 appearing and starting in 24 games for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-1 guard was second on the team in scoring this year and scored in double figures in 20 of her 24 appearances. Carr is 28 points shy of amassing 1,000 career points at the collegiate level. She shot 38.8 percent from the field as a junior and added 4.9 rebounds per game. She was a member of the Big 12 All-Freshman team after a breakout season which she averaged 9.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game playing in 33 games with 31 starts. As a sophomore she played and started in 29 games averaging 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She leaves Kansas State ranked 10th in program history for 3-point field goals made (166).Â
Carr was a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist (Kansas) as a senior in high school and was named to the 2018 Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year Trophy Midseason Watch List and the 2018 McDonald's All-America Watch List. Carr was rated the No. 22 overall player in the nation by ESPNW HoopGurlz coming out of high school where she was a standout at Manhattan HS (Kans.). Her father, Chris, played six seasons in the NBA and finished second in the 1997 All-Star Saturday Night Slam Dunk Contest.Â
Carr is the fifth offseason transfer acquired by head coach Quentin Hillsman who also welcomes the No. 11 recruiting class in the country to campus next fall.Â
