
Nazarian Wins Elite 90 for Divison I Women's Lacrosse Championship

TOWSON, Md. – Syracuse graduate student Lila Nazarian is the recipient of the Elite 90 Award for the 2021 Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Nazarian, who is pursuing a Master's degree in public administration in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, currently carries a 3.94 GPA. Head coach Gary Gait presented the award to Nazarian after practice on Thursday. She is the second member of the Syracuse women's lacrosse team to earn the award, joining Heather Wentz, who earned the award in 2012.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above who have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.

Nazarian and the No. 3 Orange take on No. 2 Northwestern in the national semifinals on Friday, May 28 at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
