
Six Orange Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

Six Syracuse stars were named to the All-ACC Academic team on Tuesday, including three players who earned the honor for the fourth time.
Stephen Rehfuss, Jamie Trimboli and Brett Kennedy earned their third selection to the team, Drake Porter and Brendan Curry were honored for a second time and Tucker Dordevic was tabbed to the list for the first time. The award is selected with a combination of academic and athletic honors.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Curry was named an All-American for the third year in a row this season. A two-time team captain, Curry had 17 goals and 11 assists from the Orange's first midfield unit. He earned his undergraduate degree in marketing management from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
Dordevic posted career bests with 23 goals and eight assists this season to lead Orange midfielders. He was named an All-American for the second year in a row. He earned a degree this semester in communication and rhetorical studies.
Kennedy was also named an All-American this season for the third time. He enters the 2022 season ranked in the top-10 in program history with 43 caused turnovers. He had six points this year on two goals and four assists, while collecting a personal best 46 ground balls and causing 15 turnovers. He earned his undergraduate degree in May of 2020 in information management and technology with a minor in management study and has since enrolled in a graduate degree program in information security management.
Porter was a Senior CLASS Award Finalist this year and was a recipient of the Doris Soladay Award – which is Syracuse Athletics' highest honor. Porter, a team captain, concludes his SU career with a 21-11 record in cage and a .529 save percentage. He earned his degree in advertising from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in May of 2020 and finished his certificate of advanced study in intercollegiate advising and support this year.
Rehfuss concludes his 'Cuse career 25th all-time among Syracuse players with 188 points. His 110 assists rank ninth all-time. Rehfuss was drafted in the fourth round of the PLL Draft this spring and is an immediate impact player with the Cannons Lacrosse Club. He was a Tewaaraton Award Nominee, All-ACC Selection and All-American this spring. He leaves 'Cuse with three degrees, an undergraduate degree in communication and rhetorical studies from the College of Visual and Performing Arts '19, a graduate degree in Information Technology Management from the iSchool, and most recently, a graduate degree in intercollegiate advising and support. He will be attending Albany Law in the fall.
Trimboli is another player wrapping up his career among the all-time greats at SU. His 95 goals rank seventh among Syracuse midfielders all-time. Trimboli has earned All-America honors in all-four years at 'Cuse after being an honorable mention selection by the USILA in 2021, 2019 and 2018 and an Inside Lacrosse First Team honoree in 2020. Trimboli was drafted in the fourth round of the PLL Draft this spring. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology in May of 2020, before completing a certificate of advanced study in Information Security Management this spring.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
