
Men's Rowing Lands 11 on IRCA Scholar Athlete List

Eleven members of the Syracuse men's rowing team have been named to Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Scholar Athletes. IRCA Scholar Athletes have just completed their second year of eligbility or more at an IRCA member school, competed in a top-3 boat during the 2021 season or raced at the IRA Championship and have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester.Â
Of the 403 rowers and coxswains to meet the criteria across 53 teams, Syracuse had a total of 11 athletes make the list including Jakob Andersen, Kenneth Hubbard, Andrew Cummings, Nicholas Kohl, Connor Toomey, Alex Manfredi, Declan Fischback, Katherine Ryan, Cameron Grimm, Arnaud Buard and Kurtis Roethlisberger.Â
Syracuse's varsity eight peaked at No. 3 in the IRCA Coaches Poll this season. At the IRA Championships in June, Syracuse had three boats (V8, 2V8 and 4V) reach the Grand Finals. The Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight finished fourth and fifth in their respective races.Â
