After being removed from the Olympic slate in 2012 and 2016, softball makes its return to the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the Orange will be represented! Syracuse's all-time wins leader, Jenna Caira, will be pitching for Team Canada. The 2021 alum talked with Voice of the Orange Matt Park in an Olympic Edition of the 'Cuse Connections interview series.
In the interview, Caira discusses finally getting her Olympic opportunity after a dozen years with the Canadian National Team, how her Syracuse experience helped prepare her for this moment, and more.
While the Opening Ceremonies take place on July 23, softball games will be taking place sooner. Caira and Team Canada take the field in their opener vs. Mexico on Wednesday and 2 a.m. ET, followed by a matchup with the United States on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
