Syracuse alum and two-time NCAA Champion Justyn Knight is officially headed to the Olympics.
The Canadian star will run in the 5,000-meters, which's first round will be on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Knight, who graduated from Syracuse in 2018, trains professionally with former 'Cuse head coach Chris Fox with Reebok Boston Track Club. He is a two-time NCAA individual champion – once in cross country and once in the indoor 5,000-meters.
Â
An 11-time USTFCCCA All-American between cross country and track, Knight also won 11 ACC individual titles and 16 total ACC Championships counting team titles, making him one of the most decorated athletes in conference history.
This year, Knight's PR time of 12:51.93 in the 5k during a Diamond League race in Italy is the fifth-fastest 5k time in the world this season.
Knight joins fellow track alum Katie Zaferes in Tokyo, who previously was named to Team USA in the Triathlon.
