SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange took all three doubles matches and never looked back as they rolled to a 6-1 victory against visiting Cornell. Viktoriya Kanapatskaya returned to the winning column and Polina Kozyreva continued her early season dominance with another straight-set win. The Orange are 3-1 on the season.

Sophomore Ines Fonte and Kanapatskaya improved to 4-0 in spring doubles play as they defeated Cornell's Valerie Ho and Lan Mi, 6-2. The freshman duo of Miyuka Kimoto and Shiori Ito took their third doubles win of the spring over Jenny Wong and Alexandra Savu. Ito previously fell to the same Cornell pairing alongside Fonte in the fall. Ito's singles and doubles wins maintained her spring perfection as she improved to 8-0, and the Orange are 9-3 in doubles matches, having won the point in all three of their match victories.

Kozyreva's straight-set singles triumph was her fourth consecutive; the Russian junior boasts a 24-9 game record in match play this spring. Senior Sofya Treshcheva won her first singles match of the season as well, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6), overcoming a second set-tiebreaker. Kimoto dominated Cornell's Maria Adiaconitei, 6-2, 6-1.

Syracuse will look to ride this momentum into its first road match of the season. 'Cuse travels to Philadelphia this weekend to take on Drexel on Sunday, Feb. 6. The Dragons are currently 0-1 and will face off against Rutgers before taking on the Orange.
