Orange and Panthers Clash Tuesday Night

Syracuse (7-8 overall, 1-3 ACC) returns to the Dome for the first of three consecutive home games when the Orange host Pittsburgh (6-9 overall, 1-3 ACC) on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 7:00 p.m.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange look to bounce back from a 77-74, overtime defeat at Wake Forest on Jan.8. Cole Swider produced his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Jimmy Boeheim notched his 1,000th career point and finished with a squad-best 21.

The Panthers are coming off their first ACC win of the season, a 69-67 victory against Boston College. John Hughley clinched the win with a free throw with four seconds remaining.

THE SYRACUSE-PITTSBURGH SERIES
Tuesday's game will be the 121st meeting between the Orange and the Panthers. Syracuse leads the series 73-47. The two most recent games resulted in Pittsburgh victories. Prior to the two losses to the Panthers in 2021, the Orange had won seven straight contests.

BOEHEIMS AMONG TOP-SCORING FAMILY DUOS
Buddy and Jimmy Boeheim rank second in scoring average among brother duos in the Division I ranks. The Boeheims are at 33.2 ppg., while Iowa's tandem of Keegan Murray lead the ranks with a 34.1 mark. Buddy (18.6 avg.) and Jimmy (14.6 avg.) are Syracuse's top two scorers this winter.

HUGHLEY DOMINATING
Panthers sophomore John Hughley became the 14th player in program history to record 30 or more points and 10 or more rebounds in a game. He posted 32 points and 13 boards in the triumph against Boston College on Saturday. His outing made him the fourth player since 2009 to contribute these numbers to the program.
