The Book of 2022 begins a new chapter on Tuesday as the fifth-seeded Orange set out for the 2022 ACC Field Hockey Tournament, drawing fourth-seeded Boston College for a 1 p.m. showdown on ACC Network.
From the Start
- It's the next chapter in the 2022 season as the fifth-seeded Syracuse Orange take on fourth-seeded Boston College in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.
- Game time is set for 1 p.m. on ACC Network with Leah Secondo and Suzanne Bush on the call. All six games of the ACC Tournament will be hosted at Duke's Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
- The winner of the 1 p.m. game advances to the ACC Semifinals to face top-seeded North Carolina on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
- Syracuse and Boston College meet for the third time in the ACC Tournament, with the Orange boasting a 2-0 record against the Eagles.

- Syracuse vaulted back into the top 10 last week, ranking ninth in the October 25 Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll with 716 points. The Orange knocked off two ranked opponents last week, No. 4 Louisville (3-2) and No. 19 Rutgers (4-3).
- Syracuse's quarterfinal opponent, Boston College, ranked 22nd in the Oct. 25 poll.
- North Carolina remained atop the poll last week with 1,099 points and 43 of the 44 first-place votes. Maryland was second with 1,007 points and the outstanding first-place nod. Penn State was third with 971 points, followed by No. 4 Northwestern (939 points) and Virginia rounding out the top five (876 points).

- Williamson is the first field hockey student-athlete to have a jersey retired.
- During her career (1991-94), Williamson helped lead Syracuse to its first-ever NCAA Tournament (1993) after capturing the BIG EAST title.Â
- Her Orange teams gathered a 52-20-7 mark in that span.
- She was the first three-time NFHCA All-American, a four-time All-Region pick. She graduated as the all-time points leader and still ranks seventh.
- Williamson was the first-ever Orange player selected to play for the USWNT, scoring against France for her first international goal on July 21, 1993.
