Sets up top-20 battle with NC State
The 5-0 Syracuse football team has its highest ranking in both the AP and AFCA/USA Today Coaches Polls since 2018 this week.
One of just 15 unbeaten teams left in the FBS, the Orange check in at No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the Coaches Poll. It's the highest mark in both since 'Cuse finished No. 15 in both polls at the end of the 2018 campaign.
A gauntlet of a schedule remains ahead of Syracuse, with its next big opportunity coming on Saturday when No. 15 NC State visits the JMA Wireless Dome. The contest will be the first battle of two ranked teams in the Loud House since 2001 and first between teams ranked inside the top-20 since 1998.
Tickets for the much anticipated matchup, as well as all three remaining home games for the Orange, are on sale at Cuse.com/Tickets or by calling 888-DOME-TIX.
The football team's ranking continues a strong fall for Syracuse athletic programs, as a school record five fall teams are concurrently ranked. The other four teams are: No. 7 men's soccer, No. 9 men's cross country, No. 11 field hockey and No. 15 women's cross country.
