With the win, the Orange remain undefeated and move to 16-0 in the all-time series against the Raiders.
Â
The 'Cuse saw four starters finish with double-digit points – led by senior guard Alaina Rice (16), graduate forward Dariauna Lewis followed with a double-double (12 pts, 10 rbs), and senior guard Dyaisha Fair and sophomore forward Saniaa Wilson had 10 points apiece.
Colgate was led by an 18-point performance from Jenna Paul.
WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Over the last five minutes of the first and sixty seconds into the second frame, the Orange keyed up a 14-0 run to take a hefty 24-6 lead. Six 'Cuse players put up points within the stretch, as sophomore forward Krya Wood made a layup, which was followed by a 3-ball from Fair. The remaining five points came at the charity stripe, where graduate forward Asia Strong (two points), Rice (two points), and graduate forward Dariauna Lewis netted a bucket. Hyman then rounded it out with a layup off of Strong's hand, and the Orange never looked back.
COACH LEGETTE-JACK SAID
"You know this game was kind of tough," said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "It's hard to stay focused, but I think that we are really fighting a lot of fights and I really am proud of how our team started. This team is maturing before my eyes. They really care about each other, they care about everybody getting the opportunity to have success. We just want to be in the locker room, and all celebrate and have a good time. I am so grateful that He choose me to coach this group of young ladies – they really get it."
