ORANGE VISIT BC FOR REGULAR SEASON FINALE
• Syracuse closes out the regular season at ACC Atlantic Division foe Boston College. The game is the Orange's third road contest in their last four.
• Saturday's game marks Syracuse's first visit to Chestnut Hill since 2018.
• Syracuse will play in primetime for the third-straight week and sixth time this season. The Orange 3-2 in the previous five night games.
• The contest will air on ACC Network with Tom Werme '91 (PxP), James Bates (analyst) and Wiley Ballard (reporter) on the call. It marks the sixth game this season that a 'Cuse alum has been part of the broadcast team.
FAMILIAR FOE
• Syracuse will face one of its most frequent opponents when it takes on the Eagles Saturday.
• The Orange and BC will take to the gridiron for the 56th time in a series that dates back to 1924.
• Syracuse's 55 games against Boston College rank as its fifth-highest total against any opponent. Pittsburgh leads the way with 78 meetings after the game earlier this season.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse and Boston College will meet for the 56th time. The Orange lead the all-time series, 33-22
• The Orange will travel to Chestnut Hill for the first time since 2018. Syracuse hosted the Eagles for three-straight years (2019-21), which was a first in the series that dates back to 1924.
• The squads met every year from 1969-2004. Fourteen of those contests (1991-2004) were played while both schools were members of The BIG EAST Conference.
• Syracuse has won five of the nine games played since the Orange joined the ACC in 2013.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• RB Sean Tucker is the fourth player in program history to rush for more than 3,000 yards in his career.
• Tucker rushed for 106 yards at Wake Forest, increasing his career total to 3,057. That total is good for fourth place on the Orange's all-time record list.
• He needs 48 yards to move past Delone Carter (2006-10) for third place.
NEW FACES
• Syracuse has used 37 different players in the starting lineup this season (offense and defense only). No team in the ACC has used more than 40 different starters this season.
• OL Jakob Bradford and TE Dan Villari made their first collegiate starts at Wake Forest. They become the 12th and 13th players to make their first career starts this season.
• Seven have come on the offensive side of the ball. Joining Bradford and Villari are TE Oronde Gadsden II, TE Wes Hoeh, WR Trebor Pena, OL Enrique Cruz and QB Carlos Del Rio-Wilson.
• On the defensive side of the ball, the group includes DL Jatius Geer, DL Kevon Darton, DB Alijah Clark, LB Derek McDonald, DL Terry Lockett and LB Anwar Sparrow.Â
RACING TOWARD 1000
• RB Sean Tucker enters Saturday's game with 935 yards.
• With 21 more yards, Tucker will become the first Syracuse player to rush for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons since Delone Carter (2009-10).Â
• A do-it-all player, Tucker is 65 rushing yards and five receiving yards from being the first player to rush for 1,000 yards and have 250+ receiving yards in back-to-back seasons in program history. The only other player to accomplish the feat at all was Walter Reyes in 2003.
RETURN LEADERS
• Syracuse ranks third in the nation and second in the ACC in kickoff returns, averaging 26.1 yards per return.
• WR Trebor Pena ranks third in the ACC in punt returns, averaging 8.2 yards per return.
A WIN WOULD …Â
• Improve Dino Babers' record to 36-48 as head coach of the Orange.
• Be the third-straight for the 'Cuse against Boston College in Chestnut Hill.
• Be the seventh win of the season, which would be the most for the Orange since 2018 and second-highest total since 2012.
• Give Syracuse its 749th all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 22nd on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 32 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
