Thompson and D'Arcy Earn CHA Accolades

Junior Sarah Thompson and freshman Maya D'Arcy are the College Hockey America forward and defenseman of the week, respectively, for their efforts in Syracuse's weekend sweep of Post. Thompson scored five goals and had two assists in the weekend series, including her first career hat trick. D'Arcy had her first career multi-point game against Post. The weekly CHA honor is the second for both players this season.

Thompson recorded four points and won 81 percent of her faceoffs (17-of-21) in the first game in the series and came back to score two goals and tally an assist in the second game. Her seven points was the most by a CHA player this week. The Ottawa, Ontario native plays on Syracuse's power play unit that ranks 12th nationally and leads CHA, the penalty kill unit that ranks 13th nationally and second in the CHA, and the faceoff unit that ranks 4th nationally. She has scored points in four of Syracuse's last six games, including more than three points in three of those games. Thompson also earned CHA Forward of the Week for her play in the Lindenwood series.

D'Arcy assisted on three goals, tallied eight shots and was plus-five on the weekend. The Cambridge, Ontario native has six points in her first season at Syracuse, including one goal and five assists, and 13 blocks. D'Arcy earned CHA Rookie of the Week during the fifth week of the season for her performance in the Clarkson series.

The Orange (7-9-1 overall, 4-0 CHA) will play at Penn State Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.
