
Orange Tally Season-High 93 Points in Victory

Syracuse began its four-game home stand with a 93-75 victory over the Coppin State Eagles (2-8) in the JMA Wireless Dome Thursday night. The Orange improve to 7-2 overall and are undefeated at home (6-0) since Felisha Legette-Jack began her tenure.

The Orange were led in dual 20-point scoring efforts by senior guard, Dyaisha Fair (27) and redshirt junior, Teisha Hyman (20). Fair recorded her second-straight 18-point first half at home this season. Syracuse scored a season-high 93 points in the win.

WHEN IT WAS DECIDED:
With under three minutes to go in the second quarter, Hyman hit a mid-range jumper to put the Orange up, 44-43, for Syracuse's first lead of the game. The Orange would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game. 'Cuse closed the first half on a 9-2 run to lead, 51-45, at the break.

The Syracuse defense shut the Eagles down in the third quarter of play. The Orange held the CSU scoreless for four minutes and 49 seconds during the third stanza to extend their lead to eight, 68-60. Coppin State struggled to find a rhythm from the disruption of the Orange defense the rest of the game and never recovered.

LEGETTE-JACK SAID:
"I like the resilience of our team and it never felt like the game was out of our hands. It is a matter of them getting more involved defensively. Offensively, we're doing a fantastic job. We can score the ball, but we're going to have to figure out how to stop people from scoring against us."

DANGEROUS DYAISHA:
Fair recorded a season-high in points with 27. It marked the fourth 20-point game of the season for the Rochester, N.Y., native.

WHO EARNED THE HARD HAT:
Asia Strong game off the bench and put together one of her best offensive performances of the season. She was the recipient of the hard hat for the first time this season. She shot 6-for-10 from the field and tallied 16 points going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line.
