Two of the top three leading scorers in the ACC go head-to-head on Monday night when Syracuse (14-12 overall, 8-7 ACC) hosts Georgia Tech (11-15 overall, 4-11 ACC) in the Carrier Dome. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on RSN.
Syracuse's Buddy Boeheim ranks second in the ACC with 19.1 ppg. and the Yellow Jacket's Michael Devoe is just behind him at third with 18.7 ppg.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange are coming straight from a 20-point victory against Boston College two days before. The Syracuse defense held the Eagles to its lowest opponent point total of the season in a 76-56 triumph.
The Yellow Jackets also look to post back-to-back wins after their 68-62 triumph at Pittsburgh on Saturday.Â
THE SYRACUSE-GEORGIA TECH SERIES
The 15th meeting between the two teams will take place on Monday night. The series is split at 7-7 with Georgia Tech as the most recent victor in February of 2021.Â
STARTERS PACE THE OFFENSE
The Orange starters once again set the tone for the offense in Saturday's rivalry matchup against the Eagles. Four out of five scored in double-figures, Buddy Boeheim doing so for the seventh consecutive game and 22nd time this season. Jimmy Boeheim contributed on both sides of the court, producing 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Graduate center Bourama Sidbe made his longest appearance in a game this season on Saturday. He played 18 minutes off the bench and produced two points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
ORANGE LOOK TO TAME DEVOEÂ
Senior guard Michael Devoe leads the Yellow Jackets and ranks third in the ACC in scoring (18.7 ppg.). Â He has put up double digit points in 22 of Georgia Tech's 25 games this season. He contributed a team-high 22 in their most recent victory against Pittsburgh.
