
Orange Shut Out Delaware State

AUBURN, AL.- Freshman Summer Clark and senior Ariana Adams combined to pitch a shutout 9-0 victory against Delaware State.
Syracuse's record improves to 9-3 while Delaware State falls to 0-6.
Clark started for the Orange and pitched four shutout innings while only giving up one hit, no walks and striking out three. Adams came into relieve her in the fifth to cinch the 9-0 win in just five innings.
The Orange got on the board first in the second inning off an RBI bunt from Paris Woods to score Taylor Posner from third base. Back-to-back home runs from freshmen Tessa Galipeau and Kelly Breen drove in five runs total to give Syracuse a 6-0 advantage. Galiepeau's homerun cleared the bases, scoring four runs.Â
RBI singles from Angel Jasso and Neli Casares-Maher put two more on the board for the Orange in the fourth.Â
OF NOTE
- Clark and Adams combined to throw a two-hit shutout.
- Senior Carli Campbell had three base hits in the game for Syracuse.
- Galipeau went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in four runs for Syracuse.
- The Orange out-hit the Lady Hornets 11-2.
- Casares-Maher and Jasso continue their four game streak of producing at least one hit.
