
Orange Play in Final Non-conference Invitational

AUBURN, AL. – The Syracuse softball team will travel to Auburn, AL for the Plainsman Invite this weekend in their third tournament this season.
'Cuse will compete against three different non-conference opponents in the tournament. The first matchup will take place on Friday, Feb. 25 with Syracuse playing Bradley at 5 pm. On Saturday Feb. 26 the Orange are set to face Delaware State at 9 am and they will wrap up their weekend against Auburn on Sunday Feb. 27 at 11 am.

Syracuse travels to Raleigh, NC next week to begin ACC play against NC State from Friday, Mar. 4 until Sunday, Mar. 6 at Dail Softball Stadium. The Orange will start the weekend with a Friday matchup at 6 p.m., and then Saturday, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. 'Cuse will finish out the weekend with the final series game at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

ORANGE UPDATE
- Syracuse (8-2 overall) won three of the five games at the Tarleton Softball Invitational. The Orange are off to their best start to a season since 2011.
- The Orange scored 29 runs and produced 40 hits throughout five games.
- Tessa Galipeau led the Syracuse offense with five hits, eight runs batted in, and three runs scored in five games. She ended the weekend with a .480 average
- Pitchers Lindsey Hendrix and Summer Clark each had 9 strikeouts against A&M-Corpus Christi. Hendrix had a total of 16 strikeouts in the tournament. Clark had 12 strikeouts over the course of her 13 innings pitched in the tournament.
- Fifth year Neli Ceasares-Maher scored another home run this season bringing her total to 4 home runs in 10 games.
- Sophomore Angel Jasso currently leads the Syracuse offense with the highest batting average of .484.
