Streaking Orange Soar Past Cardinals

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- All five Orange starters produced double-digit points for the second consecutive game and Syracuse (12-11 overall, 6-6 ACC) won it's third straight, a 92-69 victory against Louisville (11-12 overall, 5-8 ACC).
Buddy Boeheim and Jesse Edwards had 19 points each, Joseph Girard III contributed 15, Jimmy Boeheim tallied 14 and Cole Swider chipped in with 11.

For the second home game in a row, Syracuse fans produced the largest crowd at a college basketball contest this season, topping last Saturday's encounter with Wake Forest. The Louisville matchup drew 23,298.

Louisville forward Sydney Curry scored eight points and contributed 10 rebounds. Four Cardinals scored double figure points.

Syracuse never wavered after Jimmy Boeheim sank opening first basket of the game for the Orange. The hosts led from start to finish, with the advantage reaching 32 at one point.

Jimmy Boeheim's layup to start the contest initiated seven consecutive made shots for the Orange and helped the squad to a 19-12 beginning. Buddy Boeheim, Swider and Girard strung together 3-pointers to key a 13-4 run that finished the opening half. Syracuse was ahead, 43-26, at the intermission.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Buddy Bdoeheim gave Syracuse a 22-point lead in the opening three minutes of the second half. The Orange extended the margin to as many as 32 points, 82-52, with 6:10 to go in the game.

- Joe Girard III's three 3-point shots moved him up to 10th place on the Syracuse career 3-point field goals list (180). He passed Tyus Battle (179).
- Buddy Boeheim's five 3-pointers pushed him into second place on the same list (285). He passed Trevor Cooney (281) and Andy Rautins (282), and now trails only Gerry McNamara (400).
