CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Syracuse started its weekend road trip with a 7-0 loss at No. 1 North Carolina on Friday, March 18.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tar Heels (16-0, 5-0) took the doubles point by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. The No. 1 match, featuring Syracuse's pairing of Sofya Trescheva and Shiori Ito, was tied at 4-4 when UNC clinched the double point.

North Carolina carried the momentum into singles play as it swept all six matches. Freshman Miyuka Kimoto took her opponent, No. 15 Elizabeth Scotty, to three sets, but eventually lost the match 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5).
