
Orange Lose Close Battle to Jackets, 4-2

ATLANTA, GA.- Syracuse (17-10 overall, 1-6 ACC) fell to Georgia Tech (21-9 overall, 3-7 ACC) 4-2. Despite the Orange getting on the board first in the top of the fifth inning, the Yellow Jackets responded with four more runs throughout the rest of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Olivia Pess got the offense going in the top of the fifth inning with a single up the middle. She stole second to put herself in scoring position. Neli Casares-Maher came up big with a two-run home run to right center field to give the Orange a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the inning.

The Yellow Jackets responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth resulting from a double down the line. The score was tied 2-2 until Georgia Tech took the lead for the first time in the game in the bottom of the sixth. They added two runs to make the score 4-2 going into the final inning.
