ATLANTA, GA. – Syracuse (17-9, 1-5) travels to Atlanta, GA. to get back to ACC play this weekend for a three-game series against Georgia Tech at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field.
The Orange will begin the series on Friday, March 25th at 6 pm and the second game will take place on Saturday, March 26th at 3 pm. Syracuse will finish the weekend with a final matchup on Sunday, March 27th at 1 pm.
ORANGE UPDATE
THE OPPONENT
Georgia Tech (20-9 overall, 2-7 ACC) and Syracuse meet for the 14th time with the Yellow Jackets leading the series 8-5. The Orange were scheduled to play Georgia Tech in the 2021 regular season, but the series was canceled due to inclement weather. Syracuse and Georgia Tech then faced each other in the ACC Tournament, where the Yellow Jackets claimed a 6-0 victory.

UP NEXT
Syracuse will host the first at-home series of the season against Pittsburgh next weekend. The first game is scheduled for Friday, April 1 at 3 p.m. with the second game taking place Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. The Orange will finish the weekend with the final game on Sunday, April 3 at 12 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
- Syracuse (17-9 overall, 1-5 ACC) concluded a 10-day road trip over spring break with seven consecutive wins against Hofstra, Iona, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Coppin State, including two, two-win days.
- The Orange had two, extra inning games against Iona over the weekend. Angel Jasso hit a walk off double in the eighth inning of the game on Friday to win the game 2-1.Olivia Pess hit the game winning home run in ht ninth inning in the game on Sunday to make the final score 4-3.
- Syracuse shutout Hofstra on Friday 6-0 and beat them again 4-1 on Sunday.
- Freshman Kelly Breen finished a successful week with 4 home runs, 2 doubles, 7 runs, 13 hits, 13 putouts, and 13 assists. Breen also scored her fifth, sixth, and seventh home runs of the season over the duration of the trip.
- The Orange pitchers also concluded a very successful week. Graduate student Ariana Adams pitched eight innings against Iona with 11 strikeouts and allowed only three hits, while sophomore Lindsey Hendrix pitched a shutout against Hofstra. Freshman Summer Clark also struck out six batters in the Maryland Eastern Shore game.
- A group of freshmen recorded multi-hit games in the Coppin State series, including Laila Alves, Taylor Posner, and Angie Ramos.
- Sophomore Olivia Pess recorded her second home run of the season against Iona.
- Freshman Tessa Galipeau had a multi-hit game in the 5-1 win against Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Angel Jasso has recorded 4 doubles for the Orange in four consecutive games.
- Fifth-year Neli Casares-Maher currently leads the Orange offense with the highest batting average of .407.
