Syracuse (15-16) meets Florida State (17-13) for the third time this season when the two clubs square off in the second round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday, March 9. The game will be televised on ESPN and will tip at 12:00 p.m. in the Barclays Center.

Syracuse is the the ninth seed and Florida State is seeded eighth. The winner of the game will take on top-seeded Duke in the semifinals on Thursday at noon.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange completed the regular season with four straight losses at the hands of the top four teams in the ACC. The difficult stretch included an overtime loss at North Carolina and a three-point defeat to Miami.

The Seminoles enter the ACC Tournament on a three-game win streaks. Florida State won at Virginia (64-63) and at home against Notre Dame (74-70) and NC State (89-76).

THE SYRACUSE-FLORIDA STATE SERIES
The Seminoles and the Orange met twice during the 2022 regular season. Syracuse emerged victorious in the Donald Tucker Center in December, winning 63-60. In the second encounter, Florida State hung on in the final minute to beat the Orange 76-71.

Syracuse leads the all-time series 8-6.

ORANGE OFFENSE RUNS THROUGH BUDDY
Buddy Boeheim matched his season high in points (30) in Saturday's loss to Miami. It was his second 30-point performance of the season and his 12th straight double-figure scoring outing. He currently leads the ACC in scoring with 19.3 ppg. Buddy Boeheim became the fifth Syracuse player to earn First Team All-ACC honors.

Joe Girard hit four 3-pointers against the Hurricanes, bringing his career total to 201 and taking over eighth on the Syracuse all-time 3-pointer list.

SIMMERING SEMINOLES
Florida State regrouped following six straight losses to finish the regular-season by taking four-of-the-last six contests.

Injuries have hampered the Seminoles in 2021-22. Only three players have seen action in all 30 games.

Caleb Mills is the club's top scorer (13.0 ppg.).
